First days and first impressions
I arrived in Flò on 10th September and stood for the first days at the Camping Michelangelo (http://www.ecvacanze.it/de/camping/camping-in-town/camping-michelangelo/)
Unfortunately I didn't take fotos of the campeggio - so if you're interested just have a look on the link above.

I loved the "camping atmosphere" on the campeggio... People from all over the world met there, sitting together having a wine and good talks. To be honest it was not the nicest cleanest campeggio in whole Italy, but I paid 10 Euro/ night in a "tenda casetta" which means that the tent was already done for me and there was a bed ready for me with all bedclothes and everything. After my 10 hour travel from Nuremberg to Florence it was not that bad ;)

While staying at the campeggio I started searching for a single room in Firenze and I started doing bureaucratic stuff for the university enrollment.

I walked to the city just by foot, because I had enought time and I think this might be the best way to get to know new places (going by foot)

During my first walks I always took my cam with me and I just soaked off the first impressions of this formidable town! Have a look....

I took a foto because of the bars name Paolo & Francesca refering to Dantes Divina Commedia where Dante meets Francesca in hell, because she cheated her husband with Paolo and was killed for that.

The story of Francesca and Paolo is a common image in 19th century art (Anselm Feuerbach, Auguste Rodin)an 19th century classic music (Pjotr I. Tschaikowski, Sergej Rachmaninov)

Lucky me: the "Camping Michelangelo" is located on a hill, close to the Piazzale Michelangelo - if you ever come to Florence go there - you will have a wonderful view over the center of Flò.
The evening sun kisses Brunelleschi's cathedral...

This is the view from the "Ponte delle Grazie" (the bridge of the graces) in the direction of the Santa Croce cathedral... The Arno river mirrors the beautiful rosy sky over Florence.

After all that typical-touristic Florence sunset views now a little anecdote: when I first went to the university I passed this "macchinetta del caffè"... I was very surprised that you could choose two different qualities of caffè and as Florence seems to be one of the most expensive cities I ever visited (ooohm, I study in Munich which isn't cheap at all... but it's not that expensive like Flò) I guess that 45 Cents for a superior quality coffee is pretty fine ;) I tasted the Latte Macchiato which is prepared with real milk: and it's so damn good!

A piece of modern art in the "Giardino delle Rose" close to the Piazzale Michelangelo. Me as a traveler loves the "suitcase image" and me as an art-hysterian/historian loves the frame which is generated. Can you imagine the different layers of this photo? First it's the photo I took of a whole arrangement, next it's a photo of a picture which is in the "suitcase frame" - love it!

These are some of my very first impressions of Florence. Next I will tell you something about my little tour through Tuscany visiting Siena and the beautiful town of San Gimignano!
